Privacy policy

How we handle your personal data, and the rights you have.

Last updated August 2026. This is a template that must be reviewed by a solicitor before the site goes live.

Who we are

Electrigent Ltd (company number 14219811), 348 Dollis Hill Lane, London NW2 6HL, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us at info@electrigent.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details — your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, property type and whatever you tell us about your requirements, when you request a quote, book a callback or send a message.
  • Client account data — for customers using Electrigent Assure, records relating to your building, its systems and the work we carry out.
  • Technical data — limited information from essential cookies needed to make the site function securely.
  • Analytics data — only if you consent to optional cookies.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation — legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.
  • To carry out work and maintain your compliance records — performance of a contract.
  • To meet our own legal and regulatory obligations, including retaining certification — legal obligation.
  • To understand how the website is used — consent, given through the cookie banner.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are retained for up to 24 months. Records relating to installations, servicing and certification are retained for the life of the system and for at least six years afterwards, because they may be needed as evidence of compliance.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — for example our hosting and email providers — under written terms, and with anyone we are legally obliged to disclose to.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have inaccuracies corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

CCTV

Where we install CCTV for a client, the client is normally the data controller for the footage. We act as an installer and, where instructed, as a processor under written terms.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and role-based permissions to protect personal data. Access to client records is restricted to named users and is logged.
